Maggie Looking for her Forever Home

Maggie is a beautiful medium haired Calico/Tabby. Her lovely brown, white and orange long haired coat ends in a beautiful long fluffy tail. She was born on May 15th 2009 along with her sister and two brothers.Maggie is shy, and very close to her sister in particular, and would like to be adopted with her, if possible or into a household that already has a young cat. She would prefer not to be in a household with smallchildren because she is so shy.
An adorable kitty Maggie is just waiting for YOU to take her (and maybe her sister?) home... Maggie is up to date with routine shots, is house trained and has been altered. If you wish to adopt this lovely little cat please contact the Cat Rescue Network at(613)820-7088 or via email to flora_louise@yahoo.ca

The calm before the .... party!

(Left) Xena (black/white) and her brother Ares, are spending another Christmas with us all. They get to see all of their old friends yet again. Most of my Holiday kitties have been in before but there are a few 'new additions' to some families. We look forward to welcoming them too.

(Left) Ares (orange tabby) just arrived with his sister yesterday, but this is their second home. Ares took time to soak up a bit of glorious sunshine this morning while playing with a few toys. He was happy to see Odo again. They started playing together right away.

(Left) This is a picture of Odo (black/white) while he awaits the rest of his friends. He looks forward to seeing mom next week. This big boy likes to suntan from his favorite play structure, the spaceship.

(Left) Sammy (dark tabby) just went home yesterday. As you can see, he doesn't spend all of his time in the airplane. He loves BigBird2 watching.... The orange silhouette, on the left, is Simba, watching Sammy get crazy.

HO, HO, Holy Snow...

(Left) Newbie Eugene (orange tabby) was very helpful earlier this week, with my painting and carpeting work. He's such a friendly boy. This picture was taken the day he arrived. He wasted no time in exploring and meeting everyone. He's quite an affectionate kitty.

(Left) Gorgeous little brother Bunny (grey) and sister Holly, below, (brown) are visiting again. They sure know how to draw a crowd to the hallway french doors. They love nothing better, than when I open their door in the morning, to let them tear around the hallway. They have visited a few times in the past. As bunnies go.. these two are very gentle and social.

(Left) Big boy Kuzia (dark tabby) is back again. This time to spend Christmas with all of his friends. My little hand sink makes for a cozy 'basket'. He doesn't normally sleep in the sink but will sit there, out of the traffic, to watch the afternoon activities.

Snow outside, nothing but warmth inside.....

(Left) Bella (calico) has a pre-Christmas Holiday with all of her old friends. She wasn't too broken up about not being able to go outside in the snow. This chatty little girl always has something on her mind. She is very sweet.

(Left) More sweetness.... Our girl Tess (dark tabby) is such a charmer. She was very helpful during my Bridge constructions... She would walk across each one, after being secured, to make sure that it worked properly. She was even more helpful when I tried to paint them up. Thanks Tessie!

(Left) More dark tabbies. Little Sammy, in the airplane, is a bit shy, but when he's in the mood for cuddles, he'll come and get them. Don't you worry about that! Little Odo, is way in the background, up on the loft.

(Left) I've known these brothers for many years. It's a rare day that you see them snuggled up, sharing the same pillow. I had to do a double take... then, run for the camera. They were too cute. Simba (orange tabby) usually sleeps on one of our big pillows, so I'm guessing that Gizmo (grey/white tabby) joined him after he got the pillow all warmed up... Good thinkin' Gizzie Wizzie....

December 14th... Christmas tunes anyone!?!

(Left) My handsome little Olaf (dark tabby) will be spending the Holidays with us, and then some... He's an adorable, gentle little boy. We will have many pics of him, going forward. He's doing great and enjoying the new toys already...

(Left) Cookie (muted tortoise shell) couldn't get into her Townhouses this past weekend, because I divided the room in 2, so that I could finish my messy construction stuff... She will spend the rest of her holiday on that side, no doubt. She can be a bit shy sometimes, but that never stops her from relaxing and enjoying her stay.

(Left) Dimitri (orange tabby) is back in once again, and has settled in to one of his favorite afternoon spots. He's such a cutie. He isn't spending Christmas with us this year, but we will see him again shortly afterwards. It's always a pleasure having him stay with me.

(Left) Cordy (dark tabby/white) had too much fun rough housing with Tara (grey/white tabby), last week. Odo (black & white) , is a bit difficult to see. If you zoom in, you will see that he is on the ferris wheel, between the 2 wooden black cats. He was quite entertained by the others.

Shadow looking for her 'Forever Home'

Shadow is a smokey grey medium haired 4 year old female. She is calm, warm, and loving. She is not afraid of people and is also great with children. She has always been an indoor cat and so is house trained. She loves to play and cuddle. She is not declawed, but is used to having her nails clipped and usually sharpens her claws on the scratch post. Shadow loves getting brushed.
She is trained not to climb on the counters or table, but if at the new house she decided to test her boundaries, just use the spray water bottle and that will be the end. She will follow you around because she likes to be near her people and usually seeks attention. She is a little nervous around kids, but for the most part, if the kids are kind to her she does not mind them. Shadow is up to date with routine shots and has been altered. If you wish to adopt Shadow contact the Cat Rescue Network at (613) 820-7088 or via email to flora_louise@yahoo.ca

Up, down & Around... Repeat as needed.

(Left) Antone (dark tabby) and Viking (fawn tabby) both went home this week. They would often be found bunking together in the phone booths. They are from separate families but got along well. They can be a little shy with strangers but are real sweet.

(Left) Wolfgang (grey/white) and his brother Sharpe (grey/white) look quite a like. Our boy Sharpe has the 2 grey patches over the eyes and Wolfgang only has the one grey eye patch. Once again, these boys ARE climbers! They are both athletic, friendly and schmoozie... Their sister Alberta, was happy to see them distracted by all of the toys at my B&B.

(Left) Watch out Ododo Bean (black/white)... Here comes trouble.... Or, at least Action! Little Tara always comes equipped with her built-in Energy Pack. Odo didn't know what was about to attack his tail.... He didn't mind...He can be just as playful.

(Left) Alberta (black) gave me a cute pose beside all of the hay bails. She loved to lie atop the highest bails, on the sunny afternoons. Her friends Gingko & Mystere, were often sleeping in one of the lower, back facing hay bails. Alberta was very helpful, this past week, supervising my 'School Bus' construction. Drills, saws.... she would just sit close by and watch, or sleep. She's an adorable little girl.

'Grey & White' for as far as the eye can see...

(Left) The 2 handsome kittens in the picture are the new brothers to Alberta (solid black). The little boy on top of the townhouses is Wolfgang. The other cutie, on top of the carpeted tree, is Sharpe. It was the first visit for these little munchkins. They took to the environment instantly. Looks like dad has some building ahead of him.... these boys love to climb! They are big purr machines and very affectionate.

(Left) This gorgeous little old girl is named Ash (grey/white tabby). She is a new senior kitty, coming in at 19 years of age. She is quiet and independant, and at times, she can still be a tad feisty. Good for her! She loves her neck scratches...and her wet food.

(Left) Tam (grey/white) is a handsome little guy. He is shy with most people but not so much, with other cats. He is sweet and is happiest when he has some place to hide, but still likes to watch the days activities. I've known him a number of years too.

(Left) Oh Boy! This action shot of Tara (grey/white tabby) is pretty much 'What you see is what you get'! This little kitten IS an Energizer Bunny.... She doesn't seem to have a 'pause' or 'OFF' button. She had a ball with all of the fun play structures and her new buddies Odo, Cordy & Gizmo. She is too cute!

Ottawa Cats doing Cat Stuff.

(Left) Mimi (black/white) was visiting us last week. She has been coming in for many years. I've known her mom since my first year, when she would bring her previous girl, Felix, in to stay with us. Little Mi is very sweet and gentle. She's normally quiet too, unless you put her in her carrier. Then, the singing starts.

(Left) This cute picture of Monk (Black kitten) was taken during his last visit, with his brother Kenji. It was a rare treat to see Monk lying down. As you can see, he wasn't sleeping though. Just a little pit-stop to recharge, then off he goes again.

(Left) Handsome Mystere (black) has an extented stay while the family is off on the trip of a life time. He's doing great with all of the other cats. This is a low maintenance kitty..... no trouble, no drama, no demands..... He's very easy to get along with.

(Left) Raffie (grey/white) on the other hand, is very vocal and makes a point of being seen. He loves his wet food. Sometimes eating is more important than everything else... like, standing on solid footing... Raffie is also having an extended holiday with us.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.....

(Left) Felix (black) is sure loving the hay bails, now that I've parked my tractor and wagon in front of the sunny windows... He used to hide away in a bail, on previous visits. Now, he's front row and center.... or, middle row and center, in plain view of everyone that comes in. He does look rather comfy here.

(Left) Parker (white with orange) and Lillie (Bengal) both loved to hang out in the airplane. I wouldn't be too worried about what's going on down on the floor Parker.... little Lillie is on the way. She loved to follow him around, on his first visit, a few weeks ago to. Very funny.

(Left) Tutti (dark tabby) is having fun racing around. She isn't that interested to run up and meet strangers but she does great with the other cats. She has picked her favorite hay bail. If she's sleeping, that is where you'll find her. Otherwise, she can be spotted just about anywhere.

(Left) Zena (grey/white tabby) is one of my senior kitties. She and Monkey just moved into their new home. Grandpa says they have much more room now, to race from the end of one room to the next, and back again. Monkey is the more active of the two. Zena gets around well, but a slower pace.

Patches looking for her 'Forever Home'

Patches was born in July 2004. She is a beautiful black and white tuxedo cat. She is a small girl who loves to cuddle up on your lap, and loves sleeping between your feet at night. When she's hungry, she will search you out, meow at you and lead you to her food dish. Sometimes she will even walk part of the way on her hind legs beside you, it looks like she is dancing!

Patches would make a friendly pet to a new forever home that will love her as much as she is loving. She is altered, up to date with her shots, and house trained. If you wish to adopt Patches contact the Cat Rescue Network at (613) 820-7088 or via email to flora_louise@yahoo.ca

What's is on Moe's mind?

Q. I have long been curious to talk to MoeMoe. He just went home yesterday. I was interested to know what happened to cause the scratch near his eye and the 2 'puncture marks', one above his eye and one on the top of his head. I know that he and his brother Gunther do get into 'scraps' at home sometimes but I wanted his point of view. Plus, he's just such a funny little character, I was interested to know more about his personality.

A. I started by asking him how he was receiving the communication from me? 'Remote viewing, knowing'. I asked how his eye was feeling? (He had finally been able to open it after two days into this visit, but there was a scratch below the eye, that looked like it kept opening. It would look like it was healing, then a bit later, it was opened again. I suspected that he was cleaning it and that is what was causing it to open up each time). 'Gravelly, like sand in it, something behind it. He said that he'd scratched it with his 'thumb' when fighting with his brother Gunther.

Do you like your brother? 'He's alright. What is he like? 'Funny, playful, wrestler, intimidator, can be rough, can be nice sometimes.' Tell me about your personality Moe. 'Sweet boy, nice, gentle, playful, likes to be outside in the summer, funny, loves to play with camera.' Does your brother like you? 'Not that much.' Why? 'Thinks I'm a show off, always out looking for attention, thinks I'm always trying to be better than him, won't leave me alone sometimes. He gets so jealous of my cuteness sometimes. He tries to hurt me, mark me, make me look bad.' What does he say to you? He's not very talkative. He just wants to pound me.' Does he call you names? 'Good for nothing nincompoop.' Is he just playing when you fight? 'Don't think so, he's too mad about it.' Why do you say that? 'He tries to hurt me, all the time, he's not playing, I don't think.'

What do you say to your brother? 'Go away. Leave me alone. Stop harassing me. I don't want to fight. What names do you call him? 'Bully Bullfrog'. Why? 'When he lands on me he crushes me like a big fat bullfrog, with all of his feet on me, and sits on me'. What does he say to you when you call him Bully Bullfrog? 'I'll show you a bully!' Do you like your brother Moe? 'He's alright, except for when he gets mean with me.

What makes you happy Moe? 'Night time, twilight. Why? 'the sky, it sparkles, lights up so pretty to see/watch'. What makes you laugh? 'I like to be the clown. Explain? 'I like to make faces and make people laugh. People love my funny faces'. What scares you? 'Gunther can be mean sometimes. Is it getting worse? 'He's always been like that. He won't change.' What would you change about your life if you could? 'Go outside some more, play outside some more.' How is your health? 'Not too bad.' Anything going on with it? 'My lower back acts up sometimes, gets stiff'. Why? 'I don't get enough stretching, good, long stretching at my house. Why not? 'I need more bigger scratching posts, higher ones, they don't like it when I use the couch to stretch.

Anything to tell me? 'You are a special person. Why? 'You are so fair with everyone. You keep us all safe. The others respect you and don't want you to be mad with them, ever.' Anything to ask me Moe? 'How are you able to hear me like this? That's really neat!' Anything to tell your dad? 'You are a good man. Keep up the good work.' Anything to tell your mom? 'You are very good with the baby.' Anything to tell the baby? 'You cry a lot sometimes. Can you try to keep it down at night when we are sleeping'.

What do you think of having your picture taken? 'I love that. I try to make you laugh. I am so goofy sometimes, I even make myself laugh!' Anything worrying you Moe? 'Not more than that.'

Perfect Perfection!

(Left) Sylvester (black & white) is an adorable Pet B&B newcomer. She is a curious little Georgette..... She helped me put the Christmas decorations up this week. The rest of the time, she would play with her toys and look out the big sunny windows. She's a lot of fun.

(Left) My gorgeous Gingko Maria (black) found the biggest, softest stack of fleece covers at the Pet B&B. I didn't have a chance to distribute them through the town houses, when she spotted them, and decided they would be just right! She's such a cutie. This is a shy, fast little girl who loves her neck and tummy rubs. I always have so much fun with her.

(Left) This picture of Viking (fawn tabby) really doesn't do his friendly nature justice. Mom & Dad were worried about him when they brought he and his sister Princess (below) in last week. Viking did spend his first day hanging out on top of the town houses but, he came running out of no where to greet me on Sunday morning and was real affectionate. The rest is history! He's very gentle and a tad shy with strangers sometimes.

(Left) How much for the perfect calico statue in the townhouse window?!? How soft, sleek and elegant. She almost looks completely real!

(Left) Er... What happened to your statue!?! Almost makes me think of Frosty the Snowman.... or Frosty the Snow Princess, in this case! Princess (white/calico) hasn't visited us in a while. It is great to see her again. She is still this tiny, delicate, fun little one.

(Left) 'Oh, come on Kenji.... they don't make these balloons to only fit one kitty..... What are you so worried about!?! It's not like the ceiling isn't going to stop us! Kenji (Siamese) thought he'd managed to find a little 'me time', when little brother Monk (black) tracked him down... again. Monk also loves the balloons.. as you probably guessed.

The boys have it....

(Left) Antone (dark tabby) is often found in one of his favorite phone booths.... No, he's not calling Mom & Dad... It's just a real opportune place to settle, if you want to BigBird1 watch.... He's real sweet. I've known him for years.

(Left) Mystere (black) is visiting again, after a couple of years away. He a is gentle, shy, calm little boy and loves to sleep in the floor hay bail. He can still see what's going on in the room, but because of it's position, he's normally out of people's line of view. He's doing great.

(Left) Gunnie (dark tabby) has never hung out in the rocket before.... but he and Simba really like it in there. Gunther is one of those cats that likes height and/or eye level height. If his big yellow pillow is taken, I will usually find him in the rocket or in one of my tree houses. This is Moe's brother, from yesterday. These boys are talkers!

(Left) Nickle (orange/white tabby) also loves his height. He hangs out on the upper bunk beds or on the top level of the phone booths usually. He does great when he visits. He's a social cat that loves the interaction with the other cats. He and Antone often bunk together in the phone booths.

(Left) Here's another familiar face. Cordy (dark tabby/white) was snapped, hanging out in the kitchen cupboards. This isn't his all time favorite spot. He loves the top corner bunk beds, near the big sunny windows. But, I've also had 'Cordy sightings' in the rocket. He's real playful and social with his buddies.

Happy December... from Ottawa's Cats

(Left) Monk (black) was quite curious to meet Monkey (grey & white) this past weekend. Monk & Monkey, that's kinda cute! Monk is a busy little boy that has way too much fun playing with all of his pals, and brother Kenji.... Monk likes to 'liberate' my 'sink stopper' .... especially the small one from the bar sink. Monkey on the other hand is very calm, quiet and can be shy with new people. He's not opposed to neck scratches though, if they are on offer.

(Left) My little Mimi (black/white) liked to sleep in the boot of the Kitty Cab, during sunfilled afternoons. Kuzia (dark tabby) is more of a 'full body' suntanner.... as you can see!

(Left) I can manage to get really cute full body pics of Parker, that is, (white/orange), until he sees me.... then... he must come to see me! This is a goofy little head butt-er boy... It's his second visit and he is already an old pro at the whole business....No shyness or sneaking about when strangers are around, not this time! He just went right on with his business.... business of being a schmooze, that is!

(Left) MoeMoe's mom & dad will be happy to see the Moe's eye has healed up quite nicely. It seems that he gave himself a really nasty scratch over and under his eye, sometime last week. I took this pic on Saturday morning.... He was able to open it fully again, by Sunday morning.... and he's right back to his loveable, crazy self....

(Left) What are sunny Sundays for ... but a relaxing 'lie in'. Kenji (Siamese) and his old friend Simba (fawn tabby), have met on many occasions.... The two started out like this, went on to watching BigBird1, and then Kenji tried to engage Simba in a little friendly wrestling.... Both adorable boys.
