Well, little Nando (grey tabby kitten) and Churchill (black/white) sure created some Holiday memories at the Pet B&B... It's very common for play ful cats to rough house and chase each other up, down and around the whole group areas.... These 2 boys were full of beans, when around each other. It got to the point that the other cats didn't even pop their heads up, while sleeping, to see what all the bedinging and bedanging was all about... They already knew.... Those boys! They just don't sleep!Tuesday, January 12, 2010
Beding ... Bedang....

Familiarity and Confidence, go hand in hand.

(Left) A couple of our gorgeous girls, enjoying a nice sunshiny morning. Cookie (muted tortoise shell, nearer) and Suzie Q (tortoise shell, far) love to sit in the windows. Many people aren't sure what a tortoise shell cat color looks like... these are the two variations. A regular one is predominantly black with orange mottling and a muted tortoise shell, is predominantly grey with orange mottling.

(Left) My adorable Portia (grey) jumped into one of the cab cars, parked right in front of the sunshine.... She was being goofy this morning, giving herself a little neck scratching, while I took her pictures... She had fun being back with all of her old friends.

(Left) Schrodinger (black/white) had a nice pre Holiday visit with us. He's come back to catch up with more of his buddies. He's staked out his favorite pillow again... He's a social big boy and looks like a large version of Odo.... same friendly, playful personality.

(Left) Whippet (white /dark tabby) is back for a second visit. She was very shy her first time, preferring to hide from view of any strangers. This time, a day after she arrived, I found her in one of the tree houses... in plain view... Way to go Whippet..! She's a cutie...

(Left) Menou Menou... (calico) I see you way up there. This little beauty is usually hanging out in one of the lower kitchen cabinets... I found her up here Saturday morning, the day after she arrived too... What's going on around here?! Where did all of my shy kitties go!

Pixie Looking for her Forever Home

Pixie is a beautiful medium haired black female cat with lovely greenish-yellow eyes. This little girl was rescued seven years ago by her current owners. Sadly though, due to allergies developed, they can no longer keep her :( Maybe Pixie could find her new forever home with you?
Pixie is a quiet cat who doesn’t mind being by herself and loves to spend her day snoozing. She is spayed and declawed, last vaccinated on Aug 28 09 and is house trained. If you wish to adopt this lovely girl please contact the Cat Rescue Network at (613)820-7088 or via email to flora_louise@yahoo.ca

One week down, 51 more to go!

(Left) Kuzia (dark tabby) just went home but we may see him again soon. This is one of his trademark poses... It's funny, he never does this, while facing out the window. He's always facing the group. It's not like he's watching the group. He loves to sleep like this. He's a funny big boy!

(Left) Oh Sweetness! You too cute! Little Big Sweetie (Siberian) Holidayed with us again this year. He is such a head-butt-er.... This is a schmoozie big kitty. He had a great time with his best buds...

(Left) Kenji (Siamese) and Monk (black) just came back in yesterday for another visit. As you can see, the Pet B&B is their 2nd home away from home! These brothers are social, playful and so friendly with everyone. They wasted no time in joining the fun!
(Left) Axel (grey tabby) just went home this week too. And, this is one of his trademark poses. He loves to sit with his front arms hanging straight down in front of him. He can sit like this for a long time althought I don't think I've ever seen him fall asleep like this.... this is his 'viewing' pose. He had so much fun with his pals too. "That's my little adorable Paris, on the big blue pillow below Axel.
(Left) And, last but not least, we had my little Ododo Bean.... or Odo (black/white), giving us one of his looks.... He loves being goofy for the camera... Here, he's head butting the train car.... He was very happy to see Kenji & Monk arrive.... and had a brief visit with Sweetie, before he went home.... These crazy kids always manage to plan their holidays together.....

Entertainment is right beneath your feet!

(Left) Winnie (black/white) sat very contented, watching the other cats having snacks, on the kitchen counters below. She was quite sure that she was the only one occupying the space ship, this afternoon. Or, at least she thought she was.
(Left) Then, out popped this little black head, from the lower level. Little Jasper saw that I had the camera in hand, so he got up, to come and see me. This is typical Jasper for you... He can be quite a ham for the camera.
(Left) He gives me a nice still shot, before he turns up his boyish charms....
(Below) Even Winnie wanted a closer look at his antics..... He CAN be very entertaining, once he gets warmed up.

(Below) Oui! Est-ce que je peut vous aider!?! Can I help you?!? Winnie was going to ask for directions but decided against it.... As you were!

Lots more company coming this week...

(Left) There's my little Princess (black/white) again. She did love the ferris wheel, in front of the big snowy windows. I was telling her dad this week, that she was a very happy girl over the holidays. I think she missed being with all of her friends. We will see her again shortly.

(Left) Dimitri (orange tabby) is a longtime Pet B&Ber.... He's such a sweet boy. For his age, of about 19 years old, he's very agile and a good jumper still. He's looking good and has put on some extra weight in the past 6 months. It really suits him. He'll be vacationing with me for another couple of weeks.

(Left) My new friend Jacko (black) is rather shy so far but, with so many cats gone home on Monday, I think that he will start being more adventurous now. He's very calm and gentle. So far, he feels safest when he's either inside of the red phone booth or on top of it, like in the picture. I often find Gingko (another shy black kitty) up there with him. He's fine with the other cats but is likely to hide with people around. He is apparently shy at home too.

(Left) Jak (dark tabby/white) was right back into one of my hot air balloons, over the Holidays. He was lost in dream land while he floated up among the clouds. I woke him with the camera flash. 'Sorry big guy. You were looking so peaceful!' We will see him again real soon. He always has a great time with his buddies.

(Left) Handsome little Percy (dark tabby/white) has always loved the big bi-wing airplane. Since he was a tiny kitten, he would fly up the scratching posts to get in it. I will be taking it down in a week or so, for some much needed mechancial maintenance.... New tune-up, carpet, paint..... and she'll be good as new! All ready for your next trip Percy... The New & Improved Kitty's Hawk!

Wow! Is that silence I hear?! What a difference a day makes!

(Left) Caruso (black) leaned in closer to get a good view of BigBird1. Gingko (black left) watched him, to see if he had any better luck than any of the other cats that she's seen over the years, in getting BigBird to come out and play. Later, when I held Caruso at the window, he wanted down, when BigBird came over to bite his toes. That's pretty normal. BigBird likes to remind all the kitties who the boss is! 'Who is it again BigBird!?!'

(Left) These are my handsome friends Gunther (dark tabby) and Eclipse (black) doing their own version of wrestlemania, during the Holidays. They got along very well and had many a work out together.

(Left) Zaria (white) enjoyed a nice relaxing snooze with her good buddy Olaf (dark tabby). These two have met on previous visits but I think it's the first time that I've found them bunking together. Both kitties are gentle and social. As you can see, Olaf likes his neck scratches...

(Left) Kedosh (Siamese) landed on the yellow & blue treehouse, during her morning adventures.... Little Tucker (Persian) below wondered if Santa Clause hadn't made a return visit to the B&B. With a little thud on his roof, he knew company had arrived. This is one of Tucker's favorite sleeping spots.

(Left) Our pretty girl Jade (white), has been doing her own thing this visit. She's found a few more favorite sleeping spots, one of them being inside of my school bus..... She climbs these carpeted wall ramps sometimes to get up to the top bunk beds, where it's very cozy and quiet, away from the younguns....

We say Au Revoir to many of our furry friends today....see you again in 2010!

(Left) Another busy morning.... lots of kitties milling about... Ares (orange tabby) keeps an eye on Jasper (black front). Eclipse, or Clipper, as I call him (black rear), makes his way across the counters, while Winnie ( black/white) has a little snack atop the fridge. Business as usual, on a very busy Monday morning.

(Left) Across the room, we have Betsy (Cornish Rex) and Guinness (black) on the top of the airplane, watching the snow clearing guys outside. Little Princess (black/white) is far left, on the ferris wheel... one of her favorite spots... and little adorable Molly (black) relaxes on the lower level of the airplane. Nope! No bored kitties here!

(Left) Little Suzie Q (tortoise shell) sits by the snowy window hoping to spot one of those furry snow hares.... 'Wouldn't it be nice if one stopped by to say Hello!' She's an adorable and playful girl. She'll be with us for a while this visit.

(Left) More dark tabbies in Tabby Land.... Leanna (on boat) and her sister Carabelle (top tree) are very friendly this visit, even more than usual. That's our handsome Cisco in his favorite townhouse. All three of these kitties are gentle and a bit on the quiet side. They always do great at the Pet B&B.

An extra Sunday post for your viewing pleasure!

(Left) Our adorable Carabelle (dark tabby) and her sister Leanna, spent the New Year with us. These girls are very friendly and playful. Looks like Carabelle likes my new carpet choice for the rainbow.

(Left) Gorgeous girl Paris (dark tabby), on the big blue pillow, is visiting with her sister Mocha. Here, she has Bow (orange/white tabby) to keep her company. Mocha loves this pillow, or more specifically, this spot... she doesn't much mind which colored pillow is in place. Little Bow is taking a little breather from his morning workout with all of his pals.

(Left) Burt (dark tabby) and his brother Churchill (black/white on tractor seat below), spent New Years with us too. In this picture, he's hanging out with our boy Wiley (white/dark tabby). Many readers will recognize Burt & Churchill from various visits this past summer/fall. Always great to see them again.

(Left) Frankie (black/white bails) and Churchill (black/white tractor seat), look quite alike. Churchill is the 'Mini Me' version of Frankie..... and, they both like the tractor and wagon. Nickle (orange/white tabby) was just climbing aboard too, when I snapped this pic. Everyone On!? Churchill's not a very big lad. He may need Nickle to work the floor clutch.....

(Left) I snapped Mally (dark tabby) doing a big 'clean-up' after a little morning snack.... No, not tetra fishies.... just a bit of yummy wet food... although, I think she'd prefer some of them there fishies.... Big cutie!
So many dark tabbies and black cats in right now... How's everybody's year going so far?!
Dex Looking for his Forever Home

Dex is an orange 8 1/2 year old male tabb,y. He is a Hemingway Polydactyl which means he has 7 toes on each front paw! He was partially declawed when he was neutered at 6 months. He is interested in the outdoors but has always been a indoor cat that likes to visit the outdoors. Dex would love a forever home that has a calm, and preferably an adult-only environment. He can handle older, calmer kids but will growl at young children who come near him, especially toddlers with their high pitched voices.
Though Dex is a scaredy cat, soon after running away he wants back in... and he gives love-bites. Maybe 2010 is the year for Dex and his forever peaceful home with you? He is up to date with routine shots, house trained, and has been altered. If you wish to adopt this shy boy please contact the Cat Rescue Network at(613)820-7088 or via email to flora_louise@yahoo.ca

Party's not over yet folks!

(Left) Alice (black) staked out her favorite phone booth this past week. I don't have many shy kitties in this Holiday. Most of them are out and about, everywhere. Alice comes out, but not normally when strange people are present. She can be a bit shy like that... but, at her house, she'll give you the grand tour, from the front door... and she's a real chatty girl at home, while she shows you around.

(Left) Mocha (muted tortoise shell) started out in the lower kitchen cabinets, then I spotted her up on top of one of the tree houses, in the back room. Now, I almost always find her inside of one of them. She and her sister Paris are adorable, social little ones. It's great to see them again.

(Left) First, there was Peanut (grey/white tabby), sitting very happily and peacefully, atop one of my snow peaked trees. Do-DiDo-DiDo.... Then.... Oh no! It's that new little brother of mine! Where did he come from!?
(Below) Nando (grey/white kitten) loves to learn, and copy, his big brother Peanut. Up he goes, speeding to the top of the other tree.
(Bottom) 'How's this Peanut?' Do we look like brothers now?!? Do we! Do we!
Too cute! These boys get along really well. They are both very playful and cuddly..... and, they love to climb.

Pet B&B Kitties wish everyone a Happy New Year!

(Left) Here are some more of our New Year's Revellers! Nickle (orange/white tabby) has been in a few times in recent months. He hadn't planned to spend the New Year with us, but we were very happy to have him be a part of the fun. He's a handsome little lovebug.

(Left) Olivia (grey/white tabby) is such a crazy little girl. She has a way of acting shy sometimes, but then turns into a big schmooze, then, just as fast, wants to rough house with you. She loves to sleep in, or on top of the phone booths, or on the bridges... If she's on the bridges, watch out, as she likes to play in people's hair if they are close enough and/or tall enough. She'll keep you on your toes!

(Left) Chloe didn't spend Christmas with us, but joined us after, for the New Years. She sends a very warm Happy New Year, to her mom in Newfoundland. As you can see, Chloe isn't pining away, missing her home. This funny little girl has a huge personality. She loves nothing more than entertaining BigBird2. I'm sure that he will miss her when she leaves.

(Left) There's my girl Clara (black/white). The big tiger rug is a very popular spot this Holiday. She's usually up, having her siesta in one of the Kitty Cabs... But, change is good! She is an adorable big girl and visits us with her sister Alice.

(Left) Bella (dark tabby) is very easy to spot among all of the dark tabbies here right now. She has distinct markings, with a lot of black accents. She's also the only medium haired dark tabby currently visiting. This is definitely Dark Tabby Holiday. This gorgeous girl always does well at the Pet B&B, even though she can be rather independant with the other cats.
Here's wishing all of my 2 and 4 legged friends a healthy, happy, peaceful and successful 2010. I had a very interesting, insightful 2009. I'm excited to see what the New Year brings for us all!
