More of Ottawa's Finest... Cats that is...

(Left) There's our playful little Eugene (orange tabby). He popped in on Lily (dark tabby), up in the airplane. She wasn't really expecting him and looked a bit nervous by his extrovert personality. Sounds like he has lots of fun watching the skunk family that has moved into his back yard. He's so friendly, he'd probably just want to hang out and play with them. They may have other plans Eugene.

(Left) My little Fauve (orange/white Munchkin) and his sister Sheba love to sleep up high on things. When their mom came to pick them up this week, we could see Fauve and Sheba's little eyes peeping out over the top of the phone booth. As we went over to say Hi, we found their brother Mijanou inside of the phone booth, as well as Gingko & Mr Bits. Guess the party was in the phone booth that lunch time. Do we really know what they get up to when we leave?! I think not!

(Left) More playful crazy kitties... Zaria (white) is a gentle, affectionate and social little girl. She is a great climber and passes many hours playing with Cajsa (below). She will see many of her old friends again over Easter....

(Left) This little fire cracker is baby Cajsa (black/white). She is usually on the go.... People to meet, Things to do, Events to attend..... and, when she's not touring around the group area, she's often curled up in a Kitty Cab, passed out on a comfy pillow, with her brother Olaf. I think she's already gotten bigger in the last week....

It's almost Easter Bunny time....

(Left) Did you know that a cat's purr has the exact same vibration as the earth's vibration? I'm not sure, but it sure looks like my boy Olaf (dark tabby) has his ear pressed to the snow peaked tree, listening to it's vibration. (Or else, he's listening to see if that little sister Cajsa is playing inside there... He does like to keep tabs on her).... This is one goofy little boy... He loves climbing my carpeted trees, especially in the morning when i first arrive....He and sister Cajsa are having much fun with all of the cat sized toys...

(Left) Adorable girl Sheba (grey/white tabby) and her brothers Mijanou & Fauve just went home this week. Even though she has all of that fur to keep her warm, it isn't very absorbant.... When I woke her, to pack her up this week, she managed to pee all down my pant legs.... Aside from looking good, that fur was of no value at all... Sometimes 'timing' is everything. That big cutie in the background is Murphy (black/white). He had fun playing with Sheba.

(Left) I had to do a double-take earlier this week when I opened. I was sure that this orange cutie was Eugene.... but alas, when I walked through to the other side of the group area, I saw Eugene up on top of the rainbow. I had to go back to confirm and take a 2nd look.... Indeed, it was Mijanou that was on the airplane.... being just as playful and goofy as Eugene. Mijanou had been spending most of his holiday in or on top of the phone booths....

(Left) Oh boy, there's Murphy (black/white) again. I was playing with Gingko (black) on these bunk beds, when Murphy popped in. No, he didn't want to play with us, he just wanted a better view of BigBird1. Nice to see that he makes himself right at home.

Busy, busy, busy day....

(Left) More handsome big kitties at the Pet B&B... This big boy is named Eclipse. It is his 2nd time visiting me and all of his new friends. He is an energetic, playful youngster. He's only about a year old. He spent a lot of his time climbing and chatting BigBird2 up..... It didn't matter how friendly he was with BigBird.... he just wouldn't invite him in for tea & sunflower seeds....

(Left) I loved this picture of my young old friend Mango (orange/white tabby). It does a good job of capturing his playful, fun loving, free spirit... He is a true climber..... sprightly on the toes.... you need a pair of good racing shoes to keep up with him...

(Left) So many adorable kitties... everywhere you look. Eugene (orange/white tabby) just went back home this morning. He was so excited when he heard his mom & dad's voice, come through the door. The dark tabby, in the middle, is Silka. He is an adorable big boy too. He has been living in Europe for the past 4 years, so it was great to see him again after all of this time. Our gorgeous white kitty in the back of the pic, is Zaria. My regular readers will surely recognize her. She's been visiting us for years. She's having a lot of fun playing with Cajsa.

(Left) This little old handsome guy is named Rocky (black). He's visiting again with his brother Murphy. It's always great to see the boys. He's getting up there in age now, so he's not very active. That's ok, Murphy has enough play & energy, to make up for the two of them.

Danny looking for his Forever Home

Danny is a handsome male medium haired brown/white tabby. He was born in a feral colony in Feb 2007. The feral colony keeper took Danny into his home and socialized him. He is a friendly boy who can be shy at first but once he gets to know you he is fine. Danny is neuterd, vaccinated and litter trained.
This lovely cat is waiting for his second chance and hopes to be adopted soon by a loving nurturing family. If you wish to adopt Danny please contact the Cat Rescue Network at (613) 820-7088 or via email, flora_louise@yahoo.ca, or take a tour of the website at http://catrescuenetwork.ca to see other sweet cats waiting for a forever home.

Plenty of Kitten Energy to go around....

(Left) This handsome black kitty is Mr Bitts.... He is the brother of Miss Mew (from yesterday). He is quite the social guy already. I find him everywhere. He does seem to like height for his snoozin' time. He's adjusting very nicely to all of the other felines... All of the Pet B&B kitties want to welcome the pair (and their parents) to their new home, Ottawa.

(Left) Parker (white/orange patches) and his new little friend Rosaline (calico) love to climb up to the top ledges on my stair structures... Parker loves the big cushy pillows that are up there... Rosaline loved the tunnels. She often slept on the cat sized bed, up on the loft... pretty much anywhere that there's a good panoramic view of the whole place.

(Left) More Cajsa (black/white) and Noel (grey) pictures.... Noel picked a funny place to do her little summer saults, while playing with Cajsa... She managed to not role off the window ledge. That takes balance & skill..... and practice, I might add.

(Left) Trema (dark tabby) decided to take a quiet, relaxing stroll inside of the fabric tunnel.... and maybe cozy up in there for a little snooze... She certainly didn't expect to have 'help' from little Sarah (black/white).

(Left) Trema barely got all the way in, and turned around, when she was ambushed by both sisters, Lily (grey/white) and Sarah.... Trema decided quickly that this wasn't going to be as restful and/or relaxing as she had planned for... and quickly came shooting out the opening. Oddly enough, the little ones didn't want to play with it anymore, once it stopped moving about the floor. Hmm, go figure.

Another weekend getting underway.... Company's coming....

(Left) Miss Mew (orange/white tabby) and her brother Mr Bitts arrived this week from the East Coast. I caught this little cutie 'making bread' on mr Tiger's fur coat... That must mean she's made herself at home...... So far, she's keeping to herself and doing her own thing..... baking.... it would seem..... She and her brother are doing just fine.

(Left) Boots (orange/white tabby) was sitting in the tractor's seat, when he saw me snapping some pics of everyone... He got up from the seat and walked to the front of the tractor, not realizing that my handsome little Olaf (dark tabby) was nestled underneath his seat the whole time. Olaf loves to sleep in the 'engine' of the tractor, closer to the front. Sometimes you do find him curled up on a Kitty Cab seat, in front of the window, with his new little sister Cajsa riding side saddle... She can always manage to find her big brother... just like a heat seeking missile, she lands on the pillow beside him.

(Left) My gorgeous girl Callie (calico/white) goes home next week after spending March with us. The place won't seem the same without her here to greet me each morning... I know she's very excited to see her mom & dad though... They will be happy to know that I think Callie has 'toned up' very nicely from all of the daily exercise that she's been getting.

(Left) Mijanou (orange tabby) is visiting with his sister Sheba and brother Fauve (below). This little guy can be quite the ham.... It takes very little to see that cute little orange belly pop up.... He and his siblings send out a big Hi to their folks in the sunny south. These kids are looking forward to the nice weather continuing once they return home.

(Left) My little Fauvie Wauvie (orange/white Munchkin) is such a cutie. Little Fauve loves to climb and sleep up high. He loves to sit and watch BigBird1, just like his sister Sheba does. These are 3 affectionate, friendly kitties...... and social...

'YAH' for sunshine....

(Left) More Holiday shots.... Squeak (grey/white tabby) gets all relaxed on top of the hay bails. He loved to suntan up there, most afternoons.... He & his sister Mouse (below) just went home. They both had a great holiday with their buddies.

(Left) This is a more 'classic' pose from Sophie (dark tabby/white). She loves to show people the full Sophie charm.. once you approach her and offer to play with her. She's just a pint sized little girl, and has a big personality...

(Left) There's Mouse (grey/white patches) and Lincoln (grey). Mouse loves to climb and sleep in the upper 'corridors' of the kennel.... Lincoln loves to hang out on top of the airplane, in front of the sunny windows... but, wasn't often found up here, on the top bunk beds.... He does seem to rather enjoy them though.... Try to relax Lincoln!

(Left) Another of my little black & white kittens.... little Sarah & her sisters Lily & Chelsea, just went home yesterday. With 3 young playful girls like these ones.... the place seemed 5x busier than it should be.... they will be missed by their new friends... We look forward to seeing them again in the future.

Another memorable March Break under our belts....

(Left) BigBird1 is never more popular than when he's taking his bath.... Little big girl Sheba (grey/white tabby, on chair), joins Miley (dark tabby) and baby Cajsa (black/white) on the spectators... bed.... for the morning entertainment. BigBird loves to show off, and always draws a good crowd...

(Left) There's my little old girl Victoria (grey/white tabby) again. I snapped her while she was all curled up in her cozy, comfy chair. She has some health issues but it hasn't curtailed her spunkyness, or her appetite... I love to see the senior kitties with good healthy appetites...

(Left) Salem (black) and Chelsea (dark tabby) are both chatty and charming... They are little live wires and do a good job of enjoying all that the Pet B&B has to offer them, for their March Break.... Both girls went home this week.

(Left) Another of the Pet B&B Newbies..... This handsome big boy is named Boots (orange/white tabby). He is one laid back guy. He's very friendly and social with everyone and enjoys getting up to high spaces, for sleeping and BigBird1 watching. I was telling his Dad that he must have a ton of little outdoor buddies, when he's at home. I could picture him inviting them over for a back yard Barbi.... in the nice weather...

After the real holiday... the real rest begins....

(Left) Our gorgeous girls Cajsa (black/white) and Noel (grey) became instant play mates this past week. These two are young kittens with Noel being a bit older. They are terrific climbers and play together
for hours each day. I know that Cajsa's big brother Olaf is enjoying a much needed break from being her only play partner... He's also doing great.

(Left) Mia is another of my gorgeous female calicos that are currently visiting. She is usually found in a train car although she seems to have taken up residence in the airplane this past weekend ... facing the sun filled windows.. She is joined by calicos Callie, Menou & Rosaline... Mia sends out a big 'Hi' to her folks in the sunny south...

*(Left) My regular readers have met Apostrophe (muted tortoise shell) and Trema (below) before. They have been B&Bing since they were tiny little ones. They double in size, almost each time that I see them. They are both doing great and having fun with their young playful counterparts... They are excited to hear all the news, when their family returns this week....

(Left) Trema (brown tabby) hung out with Salem (black) and Mango (orange/white tabby). It was a lazy afternoon... not tired enough to sleep... not enough energy reserves left to get up and play some more with Lily, Sarah, Chelsea & Rosaline.....

(Left) Felix (black) has also been visiting his furry friends since he was a tiny little lad. He's an adult kitty now but still can be real playful. He enjoyed watching BigBird2 tease all of my young guests...... Little Sarah would often climb up into his treehouse and say Hi to him... He is often spotted sleeping in the lower kitchen cabinets...

Figaro looking for his Forever Home.....

Figaro is a black & white harlequin male kitty. He has three siblings Frankie, Minnie & Cleo all girls. The animals were very stressed when they came into foster care but soon settled and are all healthy, playful and friendly. Figaro and his sisters are anxious to find their forever homes.
NOTE: Because a young kitten needs feline companionship, it is the policy of Cat Rescue Network that kittens 6 months or younger be adopted out in pairs unless there is another kitten or young cat already in the home.
If you wish to adopt Figaro, or one of his sisters, please contact the Cat Rescue Network at (613) 820-7088 or via email, flora_louise@yahoo.ca, or take a tour of the website at http://catrescuenetwork.ca to see other sweet cats waiting for a forever home.

Too much cuteness! I can't take it!

(Left) I guess Wilson (orange/white tabby) has already figured out that BigBird2 watching can be a very time consuming activity... He's settled right in... that, or else he remembers from his previous vacations
.. He has stopped in this week for a short visit. It's always great to see him again.

(Left) Pheobe (dark tabby/white) was all smiles when I climbed up to her pillow stash to scoop up a pic.... This is one hilarious kitty. She always cracks me up. She is very coy when she wants attention... and has the cutest little squeak of a meow.... She was March Breaking with her brother Simon.

(Left) So many bunnies these past few months.... These 2 gorgeous lop eared bunnies are Shoushoune (grey/white) and his sister Mango (brown/white). Their dad & family constructed this wonderful 2 storey bunny house inside of a large breed, dog crate. Brilliant! They loved it. These 2 are very gentle and friendly... I'm told that they can be quite shy with strangers but I didn't really see any signs of that. Was fun to get to know them.

(Left) It is calico cat week.... This gorgeous calico is named Menou. My regular blog viewers will surely recognize this face & these markings. Menou hangs out in the lower kitchen cabinets, on most occasions.... unless she's popped out to remind me that supper time is almost upon us.... 'Aren't you getting hungry Mel?' .... very subtle Menou....

Ottawa Cats know how to 'March Break' to the fullest....

(Left) You won't get any complaints out of Ople (white) or her mother Snowy.... about all the sunshine that we're getting.... The hotter the better for these two gorgeous girls... She looks so peaceful as she snoozes away or/and tries to ignore my camera flashes.. She is a funny funny girl...

(Left) Little Cali (calico) and Lily (grey/white) loved playing with all of the pipe cleaners.... I tell you.. if you're looking for small, non noisy cat toys, that will entertain for hours and you won't break your neck if you step on one.... pipe cleaners are a great option.... Just twist them up, link them together or spiral them so that they bounce real well when tossed in the air... They will love you for it...

(Left) Mouse (white/grey) and her brother Squeak are back for another visit. This little girl is quite independant but does get into her social goofy moods, when she wants human attention and one-on-one play time... Just be careful of those sharp little toes cause when she's had enough.. she's had enough.... These two are doing great.

(Left) Wolfgang (grey/white) and Lincoln (grey) were fast friends after they met last week. They were often spotted 'doing laps' together around the big group areas.... Technically, I'd have to call them 'obstacle course laps'... cause just regular 'laps' don't usually involve jumping throught the tractor's engine, up and over the hay wagon, through the pirate boat and then racing each other up the carpeted posts into the airplane.... That's my opinion anyway...

(Left) Oh Callie (calico)... You're such a big girl! She looks like she's gone all 'stealth' in her fishing methods.... Way to confuse the little fishies by giving them a big white tummy to look at.... They'll never guess that there's a salivating kitty attached to that there white spot.... unless, of course, they look way down and notice that it has colorful little pants on.... It's worth a try Callie....

Hmmm, what should we do today boys & girls!?

(Left) Baby Noel (grey) had much fun with Caruso (black). This little girl loves to climb and be up high. She also likes to surround herself with lots of friendly feline company. Caruso is much the same... very social, just like his mom. Noel will meet many more youngsters as the week continues.... I expect that she'll have a great time with Olaf's new little sister, Cajsa once they arrive this week.

(Left) My little charmer Simon (fawn/white tabby) had some recent medical issues. He's recouperating very nicely. He's still a chatty little lad and is very quick on his toes.... Orange male cats are very prone to crystals forming in their bladder that cause urinary tract blockages. If your cat goes to the litter box frequently and pees tiny little puddles, just a few drops at a time, or worse, not at all, they may have a blockage. The stomach will be very full & hard... they will be in a lot of discomfort and become lethargic. They will stop eating as well, if it is left undetected. They can die from the toxicity that builds up and can't be eliminated through regular urination.

(Left) Here's another of my friendly orange & white kitties... Big boy Parker is such a ham. If he sees you, he gives you the coy little head twist, to get you to come over and give him neck scratches.... He will surely give you a head butt or two. Such a cutie... We'll see more of this little boy in the next 2 weeks...

(Left) Oh boy... When the family's away.... the kitties will play..! Little girl Chelsea (dark tabby) just had to try this, after she saw Mango do it. She's a quick study, just like her two younger sisters Sarah & Lily. All 3 girls are having too much fun. They hope that their family is enjoying their great adventure as much. Hi from all, to all!

(Left) Shadow (black) is one of my more senior kitties that I have in right now... And, she's not very old. That should give you an idea of the group that I have B&Bing currently.... Shadow & her sister Salem have been here many times. They have their favorite spots and are very comfortable when they are here. Shadow is more shy than Salem. Both girls are very sweet.
