Thursday May 13th.... and my internet is finally functionning again!

(Left) My regular readers will recognize my handsome friends Monk (black) and Kenji (chocolate point Siamese). Our handsome little Gizmo kitten (Cornish Rex) is a new and very interesting face at the Pet B&B.... Kenji & Monk are used to playing with BigBird2. It was all a new experience for little 'hairless' four month old Gizmo. Little Gizmo is quite the fire cracker... I took this picture of him yesterday, a couple of hours after he arrived.... Oh boy, mom & dad, you guys are gonna have to start building.... Your little guy is a climber and jumper! .... and a big cuddle suck...! What a huge personality on such a time furry body... He is Everywhere!!

(Left) Here's our gorgeous girl Gucci (Himalayan).... She is the sister of Argus... As I mentioned yesterday, she is a gentle, delicate and sensitive little one. I found that she needed a lot of one-on-one attention, so I take her out of the group part of the day to give her a lot of brushing and neck scratches... She loves to sit beside me, in the sunlight here, while I do my paperwork. She is doing just great. Such a cutie... and fluffy!!

(Left) My handsome old friend Waldo (black/white) and his sister Jesse just went home. He loves his favorite cat bed and enjoys jumping across from here, the loft, to the airplane, and then jumps on further to the spaceship. He's a good sized boy... and likes the fact that he can make these rafter suspended play structures sway, as he flies through the air, to his intended destination... And, of course, he goes back the same way..... No point to climb down to the floor and walk across the room, only to have to climb the stairs to get onto the loft again... Verry inefficient that!

(Left) Earlier this week, I snapped Kenji (chocolate point Siamese) trying to catch Maman's (grey/white tabby) tail.... She was too busy at first, hammin' it up for the camera, to notice.... She was joined on the stair structure by Catou (white/dark tabby). She didn't particularly feel like being Kenji's 'furry wand' though... and decided to climb down, out of his arms length.... These three have met on many occasions...

(Left) This handsome big orange & white tabby is named Heflin... Seems to me that I usually snap him up, with this exact pose.... while he watches out the big sunny windows....I've said it before... This boy has the 'dreamiest' eyes going... Such a gentle charmer.....

(Left) This is a playful charmer....Jazoo (tortoise shell) also loves the top of the blue bus... They all love this big carped landing pad... as they jump down from the higher structures.... or, in the case of Zaria... as she climbs into the hot air balloon.... Jazoo and her brother Sam are with me for a while longer.... They are both doing great. Sam is getting stronger and putting on more weight, all the time... They send a big Hi to mom & dad....

Follow your passion.... You can't go wrong!

(Left) Here's a handsome big boy that you haven't seen before... This British short hair is named Argus (grey). He has very 'firey' looking eyes.. but, his personality is nothing short of friendly, playful and very social. He is visiting for the first time with his sister Gucci.... Argus is a lot more out going than his sister. Gucci is quite a shy, delicate and sensitive Himalayan... They are both doing just fine and send out a big Hello to their mom....

(Left) I have finally figured out the secret to getting good shots of little Romeo (dark tabby)... As you will recall, this is my little boomerang-boy... I have tried placing him in treehouses and on top of counters before, hoping that I'd have time to get a good shot before he ended up stuck to my leg again.... But..... I had never tried him in the airplane..... So far, so good!

(Left) I think he likes it.... What do you think! Some kitties were just meant to 'fly'! I guess little Romeo has found his true passion now!

(Left) Just because he's in the airplane, doesn't mean that he has stopped being a 'ham' though!

(Left) Romeo was so 'taken' with the whole airplane experience, that he didn't even realize... or care.... that little Luz (dark tabby, top) was trying to catch his tail, as it popped through the top deck opening of the airplane.... We are gonna have to get you a little pair of flying googles Romeo....!

Kitty cuteness all around

My little gorgeous girl Luz (dark tabby) had lots of fun this visit. I told her mom & dad that she was particularly playful with the other cats this time. She's always hilarious on her own... but she really wanted to interact with her friends this week.

(Left) As always, Luz loves 'all things height'.... The airplane, space ship and the top of BigBird2's house.... are some of her all time favorite hang outs....

(Left) Not only 'birds' have perches you know! Luz loves to watch ... or, shall we say 'supervise' BigBird2 while he dines.... Just in case he starts choking or something.... She'll be there with the 'Luz-lick maneouvre' at the ready.... At your service BigBird!

(Left) Luz isn't the only kitty that loves resting on top of BigBird2's house.... She could hear nails climbing up the far side of the birdhouse... Yes, that would be little Monk (black) traversing .... or at least intending to traverse sides... but Luzzie didn't feel like company... so he slid back down to his side....

(Left) Daisy's (grey/white) dad asked if she is always up sleeping on top of the big pillows, on the stair structure... I guess that is where he usually finds her when he comes to collect Daisy & Rhubarb... I assured him that she often 'goes on tour' and will stop, drop & roll, right there in front of you, especially in the morning... when she wants more attention... These two had a great time...

Happy Days... Happy Endings....

It's always great when old friends come to visit....
(Left) Catou (white/dark tabby) is a friendly entertainer.... She knows how to pour on the charm and capture her audience... She most certainly gets that quality from her mother, Maman, below. As I type this, I have Catou's brother Romeo climbing all over my lap. He usually springs out of no where... You know it's him because he'll jump on the back of my chair seat, behind me, and stand up, so that his front paws are on my shoulders.... and now he's watching the words being typed on the computer screen....

(Left) I never have little Jesse (tortoise shell) help me with my computer work... but she will gladly land on the counter beside me and chat away.... or, look out the big sunny windows.... Jesse is so happy to have Paul back home...it was a long semester for her.... She's visiting again with her brother Waldo.....

(Left) Here we have our gorgeous Maman (grey/white tabby). You can tire just by watching how busy this little girl is. She is an awesome little climber. I found her sleeping inside of one of the tree houses, the afternoon that she arrived. She moves so fast, you almost want a GPS to keep track of her activity... (one with a memory bank.... a very big one)...

(Left) More of my old friends.... Dimitri (orange tabby) has been visiting me almost since my first year in business.... I'm in my 9th year already.... so, I know this little boy very well. It's always great to see him. He's a social boy that loves his neck scratches....

I just received an email from our friends at the Cat Rescue Network. They tell me that adorable litte Principessa (April 25th blog post) was adopted into her new Forever Home after someone say her profile on the Pet B&B blog and forwarded it to a friend that was searching for a new companion cat. I'm very happy for her.

Valentino Looking for his Forever Home

Valentino is named thus since he arrived on Valentine's Day 2010. A handsome long-haired black male with big green eyes, a fine-featured face, and long eyelashes Valentino is a gentle soul who loves to play. He gets along really well with all his foster brothers and sisters. He is so happy to have a family, that he will often jump into bed to cuddle up with one of his foster siblings. He keeps his coat meticulously clean too. He is shy around humans, but if you're patient and like to play, it won't be long before Valentino becomes your best friend!

So. What's on deck for this weekend Ottawa Kitties!?

(Left) This little old girl is named Bandit (black/white). She is one of my very early on guests. She's about 18 years old now. I have so many senior cats, like Bandit, and even older, that are in good health with no medications even. Bandit sends out a big Happy Mother's Day to her mom and a special 'Hi' to Zoe.

(Left) Little adorable Tutti (dark tabby) loves hanging out on the bunk beds, this holiday. The last time that she visited, she was usually found in or around the hay bails. This time, she has fun exploring all of the different bunk beds... especially the ones that put her in good line to hang out with BigBird1.

(Left) I have a few tortoise shells in right now. Jazoo, posing here on the tractor, looks quite a bit like Suzie Q, in size and personality... Jazoo has very particular markings around her eyes.... I could pick her out of a 100 tortis.... She and her brother are having fun this week, with their old friends...

(Left) MoeMoe.... you're flying that airplane by looking out the back.... Is that a good idea!! When it comes to this little guy, I don't usually question his motives... There must be a very good reason why he'd do this... He and his brother Gunther went home earlier this afternoon. I was telling his dad how Moe loves to help me fill the waterbowls each morning... He would head butt my hands.... his way of getting a neck scratch and head pat.... We had more than a few near misses over the past 3 weeks, with him doing this while the water bowls were already filled.... He knew it was risky.... but didnt' care! It was worth it!

Play, climb, be goofy.... all in a day at the Pet B&B...

(Left) Up, up and away.... There goes Sam (grey/white tabby) again... He stands on the counter of my handsink and digs into the capeted tree while getting a good stretch in... then, sometimes he gets so inspired.... He just keeps going.... Good thing that it's not a bean pole, or he may decide to climb through the clouds....

(Left) Rhubarb (black) and his sister Daisy, below, are back in for another holiday... This big boy is more shy than his sister, and not as likely to run up to strangers. He's a handsome big lad and tends to be somewhat independant. Good thing that I have lots of perfect places for the independant kitties.... He does great.

(Left) There's my little head butt-er.... Daisy (grey/white) is a big suck-up... She loves attention and neck scratches... I often find her way up on the stair structure, in the afternoon, having her snooze... She's such a cutie..

(Left) My little ZarZar Bean..... Little miss Zaria (white) loves to be goofy and playful... Her mom & dad almost didn't get away again a 2nd time, thanks to that other 'playful energy'..... the Icelandic volcano.... It was touch & go again... I will have so much fun with this little gorgeous girl in the coming weeks...

May 5th... and all is well...

(Left) My handsome friend Seba (black) has big exciting changes coming this summer. He and his family will be moving west... You never know, maybe he'll come back to visit sometimes... We wish them a wonderful new adventure...

(Left) My gorgeous girl Pheobe (dark tabby/white) is so funny. She's not real big on posing for pics. As much as she fusses and pretends that she doesn't like a lot of attention... she usually does... as long as you are not picking her up or resticting her in some way... She always makes me laugh.

(Left) Little mister curiosity... Simon (fawn tabby) is Pheobe's brother. He doesn't leave a mouse unturned, when he's exploring a new environment... busy, busy boy! He's very gentle and schmoozie...

(Left) Not sure what happened to my flash here... Django (orange tabby) visited us last weekend. He is a character. There is no mistaking this guy.. He loves attention! No doubt about it! He will play shy at first, and then, peek-a-boo... he wants to play. Big cutie.

Ottawa Cats on a sunny Tuesday....

(Left) My handsome boy Spartacat (white/orange) left yesterday. He sure had fun with all of his friends but I know that the kids were very excited to get him back home again. We will see him again before long...

(Left) Spartacat, above, really stood out in the past weeks' mix.... I have had dark tabbies and tortoise shell cats everywhere, on the first floor....Just a quick sampling... The handsome big boy to the left, is called Affe (dark tabby). To his right is his brother Picasso (dark tabby, medium hair). They are joined by their new friend, adorable Jazoo (tortoise shell). All three kitties will be visiting for a while yet. These three are very friendly & social.

(Left) Another of my gorgeous tortoise shells.... Suzie Q loves to sleep in the tractor's seat... She's such a little ham.... and so much fun. Zaria arrived this morning, so I know that these 2 girls have lots to catch up on, since they last saw each other.

(Left) My handsome little friend Sam I Am (grey/white tabby) recently had some medical issues. It's good to see that he pulled through and is getting his old appetite back...He's quite active already. I often see him stretching and climbing the carpeted tree, to the back of the photo. Sam is the brother of Jazoo, above.

As the holidays wind down for some...

(Left) I think that our big cutie Suzie (tortoise shell) goes home today. We had so much fun with her this visit. I expect that she will have a very nice long snooze ahead of her.... curled up beside her mom... Look forward to seeing you again next time Suzie... Sleep well!

(Left) Another of my gorgeous girls that will be ready for a snooze when she goes home this week. Besha (Ragdoll) is such a little ham... She had a great time with all of her old & new buddies...

(Left) So many adorable girls... Lily (dark tabby) goes home this week as well. We will see her and Besha again in the not so far off future. Lily is excited to get back out doors and working on her suntan.... that's code for 'bird watching'...

(Left) Gunnie!! Did you get that big pink & white striped mousie!?! Silly Pants! Gunther (dark tabby) is a big boy.... but, he turns into the goofiest kitten, when he gets into 'play mode'.... He and his brother Moe will be with us a while longer... They send a big HiHi to mom, dad & Teddy.... see you all soon...

Lucky Duck Looking for his Forever Home

Lucky Duck was born May 10, 2009 in a feral colonly along with his littermates Houdini and Beatrice. This delightful little fella is very friendly and likes to be held and patted. Like his siblings and foster mates, Luckly Duck had a rough start in life and now deserves a loving and nurturing home to grow up in.
Lucky is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered. For more information and to see all the other lovelies that need a forever home, please visit the CRN website at www.catrescuenetwork.ca or send an email to flora_louise@yahoo.ca.

Countdown to May....

(Left) Our gorgeous girl Tutti (dark tabby) arrived yesterday for her 2nd visit. She is settling in very nicely. To the back of the room, we have our handsome boy Affe. He's the brother of Picasso, below. Affe isn't really shy, but so far is content to watch and learn.... Tutti of course, remembers the whole place. There are some new features for her to explore since her last visit.

(Left) So many dark tabbies visiting this week. This adorable big boy just arrived this morning. Picasso & his brother Affe, above, are Pet B&B newbies.... It didn't take Picasso long to introduce himself to BigBird1. This is one friendly, social kitty. You would think that he's already a regular around here. He is more outgoing than his brother Affe, so far, but both boys are doing great.

(Left) Abby (grey, lower) and Tommy (grey/white, top) have had ample time to explore their whole new surroundings. These laid back kitties love attention and are big talkers.... Abby talks almost as much as my birds do today, since I installed their new bird toys inside of their houses... It's shaping up to be a fun weekend.... Still a few more to arrive today....

(Left) My adorable Tessie Wessie (dark tabby) just left minutes ago... We had lots of fun together.. Big, big changes for this girl & her folks in the coming month.... Exciting stuff Tess! New properties to explore, new friends to make..... Lucky girl! You'll have to tell us all about it when we see you next time.

Dancing Mathilda.....

(Left) My adorable Trudy (black) is back in too. This little girl always makes me laugh. She can be shy around people but I always have fun with her. She's not so fond of men, especially when they are big and strong, with big voices.

(Left) The boys! Yes, Moe (black/white) and brother Gunther (dark tabby) were ever so kind to pose for a pic together. These chatty little characters are very much at home at the Pet B&B. I've known them for many years. Such photogenic kitties...

(Left) Abby (grey) and Skye (lilac point siamese) have been playing together for days... but, sometimes it bares just taking a break, and checking in with your friends once in a while... Our girl Abby is one chatty kitty.... and, watch out, when she gets that tail going.... it seems to speed up as her purr gets louder....

(Left) Little miss Mathilda (tortoise shell) is one of my senior guests this week... People are often concerned about how well their little old senior girls will do in the group, surrounded by all of those 'huge' and fit kitties.... Not to worry, moms & dads.... my little old girls usually end up 'ruling the roost'.... Mati is no exception.... She isn't so impressed by the youthfulness or size of some of her piers... I'm doing just fine! Thank you very much!
